Initially, this WEB Site was just a WEB Log (BLOG) documenting our activities to research claims relating the Bell Witch in Adams, Tennessee. At that time, rough and sometimes erroneous statements were included as the founder attempted to share observations and opinions about this popular middle Tennessee legend. We apologize for that. In the summer of 2002, we decided to clean up our grammar and spelling and go public, with the intentions of encouraging feedback from both believers and non-believers in the paranormal, which we have received.
This WEB Site focuses on claims of the paranormal in Tennessee, religion (from the perspective of the non-believer), hoaxes propagated via the computer, and all matters associated with the physical sciences.
The founder of and primary contributor to MTS has B.S., and Ph.D. in Physics from Purdue University and has managed several research laboratories for General Electric and owned several manufacturing companies in Middle Tennessee.
Our founder began his activity in skeptical analysis back in 1980 as Chief Technologist for GE's Heating and Air Conditioning Business forecasting and evaluating future energy technologies, including analyzing patents and invention submissions. He was amazed how easily highly intelligent and educated people were duped in all aspects of modern science, medicine, religion, and the paranormal and how the general public clung to superstition and religious fundamentalism.

MIDDLE TENNESSEE SKEPTICS
Giving Common Sense a Chance
NO AGENDA AND NO DESIRE FOR COMMERCIALIZATION
MTS has no hidden agenda, not asking anyone to buy anything, has no commercialism, and is independent of any political affiliation. MTS hopes readers think critically about any claim, thereby saving themselves money, time, prolonged illness, or their life.
Let us know if you see any errors in the facts (or typos). Please send us an e-mail with the pertinent and specific information. General comments like "your facts are wrong," or "you need a spell-checker" don't help us fix the problem.
COPYRIGHTS AND RULES FOR USE
You won't find a long list of legal restrictions as to what you are free to use from this WEB Site. If you find something here (excluding of course links to other sites that plaster them with LEGAL warnings) to promote critical thinking (and not your pocketbook), feel free to borrow it under FAIR USE provisions of Copyright Law. We do ask that you give proper attribution. or we might require you to return our stuff.
However, in some cases we have included works by authors other than those at MTS. That information is by their permission. Likewise, if you want to use their stuff, you will also need to get their permission.
